Ron English, « Robin des bois de Madison Avenue » à la réputation sulfureuse, fondateur du terme « popaganda », issu de la mouvance« Lowbrow » et de la « Pop surréaliste », le pirate médiatique des « culture jammers », détourne les codes issus des médias populaires tels que le comics, les cartoons, la publicité, le graffiti, le dessin-­‐animé pour les hybrider à ceux du monde des « beaux-­‐arts » avec humour, espièglerie, sarcasme rattaché à cette hargne moqueuse des premiers groupes punks.

Ron English is the ‘Robin Hood of Madison Avenue’, the infamous creator of the term ‘popaganda’ born of the Lowbrow movement and surrealist pop. This mediatic phenomenon of ‘Culture Jammers’ fame twists the rules of popular media such as comics, advertising, graffiti and cartoons to mix them with the world of fine art using a blend of humour, mischief and sarcasm similar to the mocking aitude of early punk bands.
